The moth hovers
Nearer and nearer
The warm light bulb

The closer it gets
The hotter the bulb
The further it retreats
The colder the bulb’s heat

The moth finds cause
In its life

To keep the bulb burning bright

The light bulb glows
As a light bulb should
Like a butterfly that has never
Seen its colors
So the light bulb glows

And learns that moths
Love its heat
They thrive on it

And so it glows
Burns hotter and hotter
Like a light bulb should

The moth is enchanted
By the power it has
Over this intriguing light bulb

Close is never close enough

One night
Light bulb wonders why
Moth suddenly just left

One minute moth is all over bulb
The next
Moth flies down down below

Bulb waits
Moth never comes back

Bulb thinks
Oh well
There will be many more moths

And so it glows on
A light must never go out

It must burn
For the next moths to come

Made of Sand
Not Dura, but Alaminadura
